Foto de stock - 17 March 2023, Brandenburg, Frankfurt (Oder): Michel Lankau, locksmith of the company Bittner Glocken- und Turmuhren, looks out of an opening in the southern tower clock of the Friedenskirche at a height of 38 meters. On the same day, two employees of the Bittner company had dismantled the hands and numerals of the church tower clock, which dates back to around 1900. These are now being restored and gilded in the workshop. The clockwork has already been restored by the company and is still in the workshop. The clockwork, numerals and hands are then to be reassembled on 18.04.2023. The restoration project around the tower clock arose in 2019 from civic engagement and is consequently coordinated by a working group consisting of the Oekumenisches Europa-Centrum Frankfurt (Oder) e.V. (OEC), citizens and the monument protection authority. The OEC is the center and driving force of the project.
