The construction will create one of the most modern planetariums in Germany. The dome was installed last. It consists of 144 aluminum segments and measures twelve meters in diameter at its base. The six-ton dome was produced in Ohio, USA, and is located in the heart of the planetarium. Around 100 spectators are expected to be able to sit under the firmament and gaze up at the night sky from spring 2022. Meanwhile, construction costs have risen to around 21 million euros.
