Biografía

I photograph mainly labor and social issues. I was previously the editor of a magazine for labor union activists, Labor Notes, and before that a taxi driver in New York. In addition to earning a living, I would like my photography to contribute in some small way to social change.

What is the best photographic advice that you have ever received?
Rohn Engh of PhotoSource International always preached: find something you care about and specialize in that. Don't try to photograph everything.
If you weren’t a photographer, what would you be?
Perhaps a scientist of some kind. Or a pilot. Not lawyer. Not doctor. Not politician. Not banker.
