Foto de stock - 25 November 2020, Thuringia, Oberwellenborn: Ines Spazier, regional expert at the Thuringian State Office for Monument Preservation and Archaeology, is standing during excavations on a cemetery with several urn burials from the Roman Empire. Among the nearly 60 features recovered so far, 40 are urn graves. Based on the vessels used and the grave goods, a burial period for the 1st century AD can be indicated. An exposed hilltop was used as burial place. The Thuringian State Office for Monument Preservation and Archaeology (TLDA) has been carrying out preliminary excavations since summer 2019 on the new EGL 442 long-distance gas pipeline, which is to be laid and which crosses the Free State of Thuringia over a distance of almost 110 km.
