Several of the locomotives built from a small series at Krupp in Essen and AEG in Berlin, eight of the once 29 of these electric locomotives still exist today, are being repaired for the company Schlünß Eisenbahn Logistik (SEL) from near Neumünster in Schleswig-Holstein. In the workshop opened by the Deutsche Reichsbahn in 1986, rail vehicles coming from the railway ferry were re-gauged from the 1520 millimetre wide Russian broad gauge to the standard track common in the rest of Europe. The workshop, which was taken over in 2014 by today's company Enon, based in Putlitz, Brandenburg, reconditions old locomotives and railway carriages for use by private railway companies.
