Following the first confirmed finding of a wild boar infected with African swine fever in the district of Märkisch-Oderland, an electric fence has been erected over a length of around 20 kilometres since Wednesday morning. The fence runs through corn fields, touches the Alte Oder and irrigation ditches. In the afternoon, the barrier for wild boars is to be erected according to the information. In Brandenburg, the national reference laboratory has also confirmed a new case in the previous core area around the earlier finds - bringing the total number of infected wild boars to 38.
