Foto de stock - Oct. 10, 1960 - Sealion escapes form 'Noah's Ark': A modern Noah's Ark sailed down the River Thames today. The occasion was a reception to laugh the special star gals performance of the Billy Smart circus at Blackheath on Oct 19th, to aid the Variety Club of Great Britain - the Childrens charity organisation. The Noah's Ark in this instance was the river boat Queen Elizabeth, which left from the Festival Pier, The animals embarked two by two and included elephants, lions, camels, etc. Also aboard were artists of Billy Smart Circus. During the trip 'Fritzi', a sealion, worth about £120, escaped its trainer Mr. Charles Illeneb, and dived overboard into the Thames, and river boats were called in to assist in its capture.
