The reverse side is empty, with a narrow upright edge on three sides (the top side is sawn off). Ink set of tin that is basically rectangular. The base is mounted on four round legs, which are scalloped at the front and have a raised edge, so that a pencil box is formed. The rear half has a tray formed by higher, curved raised edges, and is divided into three compartments. The square inkwell is hung in the left compartment. The top of the inkwell has a small, round opening closed with a bell-shaped lid, which is fixed via a single-hinged hinge. The sand spreader is hung in the right compartment.
