In Poland, when it was at its largest, there were previously aronia plantations of up to 40, 000 hectares. But berry cultivation in Poland has experienced significant problems due to climate change, including drought. . In Finland, 2021 aronia will be grown on about 100 hectares in 2021, but already next year the plantations will be expanded by a couple of hundred more hectares. Production in 2021 amounted to 100 tonnes of berries, which is estimated to be increased to at least 200 tonnes in 2022.
