Foto de stock - European Space Agency astronaut Paolo Nespoli, Expedition 27 flight engineer, works with Anomalous Long Term Effects on Astronauts (ALTEA) Shield isotropic equipment in the Destiny laboratory of the International Space Station. ALTEA-Shield isotropic dosimetry uses existing ALTEA hardware to survey the radiation environment in the Destiny laboratory in 3D. It also measures the effectiveness and shielding properties of several materials with respect to the perception of anomalous light flashes.
