Foto de stock - From 1879 to 1912, French postman Ferdinand Cheval built his Ideal Palace. Cheval built the palace with stones he had collected during his daily mail route, combining several styles and using the Bible and Hindu mythology as inspiration. The palace is regarded as an extraordinary example of naïve art architecture. In 1969 it was declared a French cultural landmark. Seen here is the face of one of the three sculpted giant figures on the east facade. The inscription of the giant´s hat reads: Vercingetorix, who was the man who, in the 1st century BC, united the Gauls in an ultimately unsuccessful revolt against the Romans in the Gallic Wars 1st century BC.
